Students who participate in the Be in the Zone-Turn Off Your Phone campaign will facilitate many activities, events, and different media campaigns to focus on the common theme of decreasing distracted driving.
Through the campaign, we encourage schools to show their creativity, planning, and leadership abilities to make an impact on their school and community. The campaign will be evaluated by a panel of adult and teen judges.
- Increase knowledge among peers about the dangers of texting while driving through positive messaging
- Encourage the turning off of cellphones while driving
- Encourage safe driving behaviors
Schools are placed in a division with 4 other competing schools. Each division has a first and second place award winner, each winning cash prizes and trophies.
The first place winners of the 2017-2018 BITZ Campaign were East Hickman High School, Franklin High School, Siegel High School and Harpeth High School. Congrats to the winning schools and all the students who impacted their community!
